Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will my student need to provide their own instrument?

A: Yes, the student is responsible for providing their own instrument and bringing it to each lesson. If your student does not have an instrument at the time of registration into the lesson program, they can be purchased on site in the Crossroads Music Store. A discount of 10% will be applied ONLY if your student is currently enrolled in the lesson program. Your student will not be provided a lesson until they have procured an instrument. Please refer to the "Materials" section of the Policy Agreement.

Q: What if I need to cancel a lesson after the 48 hour time period as passed?

A: Any lesson not canceled 48 hours before the agreed upon lesson time will be counted as an unexcused absence and will count against the student’s limit of 3 unexcused absences a year. In the case of unforeseen illness or family emergency, contact the lesson administrators as soon as it is apparent that you will be unable to attend. These cases will be handled at the discretion of the lesson administrators. For more information, please refer to the “Excused/Unexcused Absence” sections of the Policy Agreement.

Q: Will I be required to pay full price for months with scheduled holidays?

A: Yes. Tuition is based off of a 47 week year and all expenses have been factored into the monthly tuition costs. Please refer to the “Tuition” section of the Policy Agreement.

Q: What if I would like a refund for lessons that my student has not attended?

A: Any and all refunds and/or credits given will be discussed solely with the lesson administrators. This is addressed in more depth in the “Refunds and Account Credits” section of the Policy Agreement.

Q: Can my student sign up on a trial basis?

A: Yes, students can enroll on a trial basis. However, a commitment of 2 months is required if a student is signing up for a trial. This 2 month commitment is to ensure that the student has ample time to explore their instrument before deciding whether or not they wish to continue pursuing lessons. This is in keeping with the "Drop and Break Procedure" section of our Policy Agreement. If a student wishes to discontinue lessons, a 30 day, written, paid notice must be given at the beginning of the month. This 30 day period must be paid for whether or not the student chooses to attend the lessons. If a student drops enrollment and chooses to return to the program at a later time, the student must be re-enrolled and a second registration fee of $15 will be applied at the time of their enrollment.

Q: How long will it take for my student to start seeing results in their skill level?

A: Any progress made will be up to how much effort the student puts into their lesson, as well as their practice time. Successful students typically diligently practice the material assigned by the instructor for 25-30 minutes a day. Please refer to the "Practice" the section of the Policy Agreement.
